Abducted woman, baby rescued from HP; accused held

A woman and her baby who went missing about a month ago from district of Jammu and Kashmir, were rescued from Himachal Pradesh, police said today.

The alleged kidnapper was also arrested during a joint operation with police, a senior police said.

According to the officer, Salwa Bhalwal, a resident of Sunderbani, lodged a complaint on January 14, alleging that his wife, along with a baby, had gone missing mysteriously on way to her parents' home.

A case was registered and during the course of investigation it came to the fore that the woman and her baby were kidnapped, the said.
