Civil society members and human rights activists have embarked on a 'Karwan-e-Mohabbat' to express solidarity with victims of mob lynching incidents.
The 'journey of love', traversing Assam, Bengal, Bihar, UP, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and MP, will conclude at Mahatma Gandhi's birthplace, Porbandar, in Gujrat on October 2, said rights activist Shabnam Hashmi.
It started from Assam's Nagaon where two youths were lynched allegedly by a mob of cow vigilantes.
Noted activist Harsh Mander, who met the parents of the victims Riyaz and Hanif, said, "We hope our visit offered them a little solace,". He added that the Karwan members convinced a group of local lawyers to fight for justice to the victims.
