ADGP meets Guv, discusses security for Amarnath pilgrimage

Jammu and Kashmir Additional Director General of Police (Security) V K Singh today met Governor N N Vohra and discussed security arrangements, in particular for the upcoming annual Amarnath pilgrimage, in the state.

Several important matters pertaining to the security management were discussed when the ADGP called on the Governor at the Raj Bhawan here, an official spokesman said.

The focus was on providing security to pilgrims heading for holy Vaisho Devi and Amarnath cave shrines, he said.

This was Singh's first meeting with the Governor after taking over as the Additional DGP (Security).

Natrang Director, Jammu, Balwant Thakur also called on the Governor and discussed measures to be taken for promotion of traditional art forms in villages surrounding the Vaishno Devi shrine.
 

The Governor, who is the chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, reviewed the status of the project launched last year by the Board for preserving and showcasing heritage and rare art forms in villages surrounding the temple.
