Agitators call for state wide hartal tomorrow

With the apex court order in the Mullaperiyar case coming as a setback to Kerala, the local resistance group agitating for a new dam has called a statewide dawn-to-dusk hartal tomorrow.

Major political parties, including the ruling Congress and the opposition LDF, has not spelled out their stand to the hartal call.

Leaders of the Mullaperiyar Agitation Council said at Chappath in the district that the order did not take into account the deep concerns of the people.

They said the hartal would be observed in a peaceful manner and spare essential services like health, water and milk supply and media from the protest.
