Aluminium prices traded lower by 0.97 per cent to Rs 142.30 per kg in futures trading today as speculators cut bets amid weak trend overseas, subdued demand at domestic spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in August fell by Rs 1.40, or 0.97 per cent, to Rs 142.30 per kg in a business turnover of 21 lots.
On similar lines, the metal for delivery in July edged lower by Rs 1.25, or 0.87 per cent, to Rs 142 per kg in 1,368 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants on the back of weak global cues amid easing demand from consuming industries in the physical market weighed on aluminium prices at futures trade.
