AP Independence Day parade likely to be conducted at RK Beach

District Collector N Yuvraj and city police chief Amit Garg inspected the Rama Krishna (RK) Beach area in the city today, where the Independence Day parade is scheduled to be held on August 15.
Speaking on the occasion, Garg said that the RK Beach was zeroed down after considering other venues and a feasibility report would be sent to the AP Chief Minister's office on Tuesday.
The police official said that the main dais from where Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would the salute is yet to be finalised.

Totally, 15 contingents, including seven armed contingents and eight unarmed contingents would participate in the parade, the police official said.
As per estimates, more than 1,500 men from various police battalions would be selected for the Independence Day parade, the police official said.
Other specialised squads such as dog squads and bomb squads are likely showcase their expertise at the parade, the police official said.
Tableaux depicting cultural heritage of the state and welfare schemes would roll down the beach road on the occasion, the police official said.
Elite forces like Octopus, Greyhounds and APSP would form part of security rings for smooth conduct of the parade, the police official said.
Rehearsals for the parade will commence from August 3 and the final full-dress rehearsal has been scheduled for August 13, the police official said.
