Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today invited China Harbour Engineering Company, a major infrastructure construction player, to explore the possibility of creating a Chinese industrial park which would have all Chinese firms under one roof.

Company's Chairman Mo Wenhe said the firm is keen on replicating its China experience in Andhra Pradesh, in infrastructure development.

"We are aware of AP's advantages of long coastline, natural and mineral resources," he was quoted as saying in a statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office here.

Naidu, on the third day of his visit to China, lauded the country's rapid growth in the last 40 years, and asked the company to look at establishing such an industrial park.

The Chief Minister invited the company to set up shop in state's capital Amaravathi.

According to the statement, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed after the meeting between Hyderabad-based infra company Soma Enterprises and China Habour Engineering Company.

In a meeting with state-owned China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC), Naidu invited the company to work with Andhra Pradesh on construction of dams and linking of rivers.

The CM suggested that the company, which has expertise in water conservancy, wind power, electromechanical installation and power transmission and transformation, among others, could work closely with AP's irrigation department in helping the state divert flood water draining into sea to drought-hit areas of the state.

The CGGC informed him that they could also look into funding and equity models for carrying out projects in AP.

Meanwhile, Guizhou province expressed keenness to become sister province of AP in software development.

A Guizhou delegation, which met Naidu, said since AP has a good human resource base in software development, it wants to become a sister province to the state in this field.

"We are also interested in wind power projects in AP," it said.

The Chief Minister also invited the company to set up an industrial park in his state.

On the invitation of the Communist Party of China, Naidu met Minister for International Department Central Committee of Communist Party of China (IDCPC) Wang Jiarui in Beijing today, the statement added.
