Haobam Paban Kumar, director of the Manipuri Film Loktak Lairembee (Lady of the Lake), today bagged the 26th Aravindan Puraskaran for the best debutant director of 2016.
The award instituted by Chalachithra film society, in the name of legendary Malayalam Director G Aravidan, carries a cash of Rs 25,000, memento and citation.
The award would be presented to the director on March 15 at a function to be held here, a release from the society said today.
