Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today launched Accident Response and Medical Assistance Ranchi (ARMAR), a collaborative effort of Jharkhand Police, Tata Steel and Medica Hospitals Pvt Ltd, at the police headquarters here.
"It is a unique initiative in the field of police-public partnership as well as a government-corporate partnership in the field of corporate social responsibility," Das said after launching it.
A Tata Steel press release said, ARMAR was a dedicated free ambulance service for road accident victims in Ranchi and the service would be available 24x7 on phone (0651-6660100) and toll free number 100.

Eight ambulances equipped with basic life support system, two trained EMTs and one police personnel would be placed at eight different locations to ensure quick response, the release said.
When a call reaches the command centre at Medica Hospitals or Police Control Room, the nearest ambulance would rush to the accident site to secure the trauma victim and take the person to the nearest hospital, the release said.
Jharkhand Police have provided eight ambulances with drivers, fuel, police personnel and infrastructure support for smooth and successful operation of this project, it said.
The steel company would help bring on board trained paramedics, provide remuneration to EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians), senior monitoring officer and also bear the expenses related to branding of ambulances, supervision and monitoring, command centre set-up, maintenance of medicines and consumables.
Medica Hospitals has trained all the EMTs and EMEs (Emergency Medical Executives) would man the command centre and also manage the overall operational aspect of the project.
