Army jawan shot dead by colleague in Punjab

A jawan was shot dead today allegedly by one of his colleagues at an Army firing range in Adampur here, following which a court of inquiry has been initiated into the incident.

Havildar Rajiv Kamal, 35, a resident of Bihar, was shot dead by his colleague Naik Malket Singh following a heated argument over some issue, the inquiry officer at Patara police station said.

The accused jawan has not been arrested yet, the police official added.

Defence spokesperson Naresh Vig confirmed the incident.

Both the jawans were posted at Beas brigade, he said adding a court of inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
