Assam 69/1 in reply to Goa's 175 all out

Swarupam Purkayastha returned impressive figures of five for 69 to help Assam bowl out Goa for 175 in their Group C Ranji Trophy cricket match here today.

At stumps on the first day at the Goa Cricket Association Academy Ground, Assam were 69 for one with Pallavkumar Das batting on 42.

Amogh Sunil Desai and skipper Swapnil Asnodkar scored 42 and 34, respectively, for the hosts.

Assam trailed Goa by 106 runs with none wickets remaining in the 1st innings at close of play.
