Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi today said the northeastern state is at the heart of the Centre's Act East Policy and the government is focusing on infrastructure development to ensure all-round development of the region.
"Assam is at the heart of the Centre's Act East Policy and the North East also has the best reputation of being the hub for industrial communication for its proximity to the South Asian countries," Mukhi said while inaugurating a two-day seminar on "Physical and Social Infrastructure for Regional Development".
Mukhi called for initiatives to utilize these means for the maximum development of the region.
The seminar has been organized by the Union Ministry of Finance in collaboration with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) and the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FICCI).
