Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today said his government was committed to the empowerment of women in rural areas in the state.
"I am happy to see thousands of women coming out at Titabar to interact with me and ventilate their grievances without any inhibition," Gogoi tweeted.
"The coming out of women in large numbers from rural areas augurs well for the state," the chief minister said.
It also reflects the state government's commitment to empower women, he added.
