District authorities have relieved Ghanshyam Singh of the additional charge of Assistant Labour Commissionerhere following a complaint of corruption against his department officials.
The step was taken yesterday after a complaint was made that the officials of the Labour Department had allegedly received bribes for distributing cycles to labourers, District Magistrate Nikhil Chand Shukla told reporters today.
The charge of Assistant Labour Commissioner has been handed over to another official, the district magistrate said.
Singh is presently holding the charge of Assistant Labour Commissioner, Shamli district.
