Director of KIMS-USHALAKSHMI Centre for Breast Diseases Dr P Raghu Ram was Friday elected as president of the Association of Surgeons of India.
The association is the largest surgical organisation in the Asia-Pacific region and represents the surgical fraternity across India, a press release said.
Established in 1938,the association is considered to be the'Voice for Surgery' in the country, the release said.
Raghu Ram is a Padma Shri Awardee and also the winner of Dr BC Roy National Award.
