Police today initiated attachment proceedings against five absconding accused in a cow slaughter case at Katka village here.
According to Circle Officer SKS Pertap, a local court had issued them notice to initiate attachment proceedings against the five accused under Section 82 of the CrPC.
During a raid in the village on June 26 last year, the police had seized around 100 kg of cow meat.
The accused had opposed the raid and opened fire on the personnel. A constable was injured in the incident.
