Backing ryots stir in Delhi, students protest in TN

Students held protests in several parts of Tamil Nadu today expressing solidarity with the state's farmers staging an agitation in Delhi, to press their charter of demnds.

Law students staged a demonstration here and resorted to a brief rail roko at Chengalpattu.

In Coimbatore, students staged a demonstration at Town Hall. Similarly, in Ariyalur students took out a rally in support of farmers.

Yesterday, a group of students held a protest by standing in the sea off Marina Beach.

A group of farmers from the state are on a protest in New Delhi seeking better drought relief, waiver of farm loans, inter-linking of rivers and setting up of the Cauvery Management Board.
