Bandh in DK: Shops shut down, buses damaged

The call for bandh by the Sangh Parivar in the Dakshina Kannada district today evoked good response as shops remain closed and roads were deserted.
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajarang Dal had called for the bandh in protest against the alleged attack on pilgrims bound for Datta Peetha at Ulaibettu in Chikmagalur district on December 5.
Public vehicles were almost completely off the road. At least three vehicles including two buses were damaged in stone pelting incidents, police said.
