Several bank employees here today staged protest against RBI Governor Urjit Patel, days he suggested merging public sector banks during a lecture in Columbia University.
In a press release issued, the employees, under the banner of United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), said that their protest was over RBI Governor's recent speech at Columbia University were he talked about merging the public sector banks to private ones.
UFBU also demanded strong steps for the recovery of bad loans and strengthening of public sector banks, the release said.
