In a memorandum sent to the President, the association said the state government was also committed to implementing use of Tamil and establishment of required infrastructure in speedy and efficient manner.
The Full Court of the high court also had passed a resolution seeking to make facilities for using Tamil in the high court proceedings. The court had also requested the state government to provide facilities and a committee also had been formed.
In states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, vernacular language was used in the proceedings of the respective high courts. Hence the same should be followed in Tamil Nadu, the memorandum said.
Mukherjee is set to participate in the sesquicentennial celebrations to be held in Chennai.
