Bhojpuri singer and actor Pawan Singh today joined the BJP.
He joined the saffron party here in the presence of BJP general secretary Arun Singh, Bihar BJP chief Nityanand Rai and Rajya Sabha member R K Sinha, who welcomed Pawan into the party fold.
The BJP claimed that popularity of his songs will help the party expand its reach.
One of his songs has been viewed close to eight crore times, Arun said.
Pawan told reporters that he supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he was working for the poor.
"I have no greed for fighting elections. If Amit Shah (BJP chief) asks me, then I can sweep floor," he said.
