The Bihar government will constitute a fast-track court to hear the alleged cases of rape of minor girls in Katihar district, Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said today.

Manjhi, who was here to attend a function at Kabir Moolgadi Mutt at Kabirchaura, said the incidents were "unfortunate and horrific".

Manjhi said his government was serious about the alleged incidents of rape and pregnancy of minor girls in Katihar district and wanted the culprits to be severely punished as early as possible.

"These are unfortunate incidents. We want the culprits to be severely punished as early as possible. We want the case to be heard in a fast-track court," he told reporters.

As per reports, at least 12 minor girls had been raped in Bihar's Katihar district in the past one year.
