The BJP today claimed that majority of the candidates who have been elected in the recently-held panchayat polls in Haryana, are either active workers or office bearers and supporters of the party.
The ruling BJP, however, did not fight the polls on party symbol.
State BJP President and MLA Subhash Barala said "In these elections, over 70 per cent candidates elected are either active BJP party workers or office bearers or supporters."

He said that except for district Sirsa, BJP, which had for the first time formed government in Haryana on its own after 2014 assembly polls, is capable of making president of Zila Parishads in all 20 districts.
In a reply to a question, Barala said that a party worker has been elected Sarpanch in the village Sanghi in Rohtak district of former Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
He also claimed that a BJP supported candidate defeated Kanta, the wife of INLD senior leader and Leader of Opposition Abhay Chautala by about 7,100 votes in ward number 4 of Sirsa Zila Parishad.
