BJP's national spokesperon Vijay Sonkar Shastri was today a disappointed man as he could not meet party President Rajnath Singh after reaching his residence here.
Sonkar came to meet Singh at his Ashoka road residence in the afternoon. He stood outside the gate for quite some time, waiting for a call from inside.
However, before he could get a call, Rajnath Singh left his residence to meet Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi at Gujarat Bhavan.
As mediapersons gathered outside Singh's residence asked him why he was denied an audience by the party chief, a visibly disappointed Sonkar tried to downplay it, saying his visit was not planned.
"Main aise hi aa gaya tha...Rajnathji se milne aaya tha" (I had come just like that. I had come to meet Rajnath Singh)," he said.
