BKU calls off 11-day collectorate gherao

Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) today called off its eleven-day gherao at the collectorate here demanding for clearing of sugarcane dues and upward revision of their prices.

BKU national spokesperson Rakesh Tikait said that fresh state-wide agitation will start on February 1 by blocking the national highways to press their demands.

The spokesman had last evening demanded that the government should fix the sugarcane price at the rate of Rs 350 per quintal.
