The funeral service was conducted by the Kohima Baptist Pastors' Fellowship (KBYF).
Speaking on behalf of the bereaved families, Bendangnungsang's brother T Lima and Thejavizo's grand-father Zakie-o Metha expressed that the sacrifice made by the two should not go in vain but become a source for Nagas to build better understanding and unity.
They were also of the opinion that the agitators should not adopt violence but resolve the crisis by understanding the sentiments of the people.
"Let us reason together without violence," appealed Metha.
"We deeply mourn the death of the two heroes who gave their lives for our future unity and understanding. We will always remember their sacrifice," said Angami Public Organisation president Dr Vilhusa Saleyi.
The last rites were performed KBYF president Rev Vevo Phesao while the burial was done besides the Zonal Council Hall in Old Secretariat complex.
A group of protestors were adamant that unless the three point charter of demands submitted to the Governor by the Nagaland Tribes Action Committee (NTAC) Kohima yesterday are fulfilled, the two youths should not be buried.
However, NTAC Kohima representative P Ngullie informed that after the arrival of the Governor P B Acharya to Kohima today, they called him and apprised about the demands including the resignation of the Chief Minister along with his cabinet.
He also informed the gathering that the Governor has assured to initiate action on their demands as per the provisions of the Constitution and punish the wrong doers.
