Police today exhumed remains of a 55-year-old woman who was allegedly killed over a property dispute by her son with the help of his sister at their house in Goshamahal in January 2014, Shahinayatgunj police said.
The accused Babu and his sister were taken into custody last evening for allegedly killing his mother Lakshmi Bai alias Ayesha, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Goshamahal Division) K Ram Bhupal Rao said.
The relatives of Lakshmi had lodged a complaint with police earlier saying she had gone missing.
However, it came to light during the probe that she was murdered over property dispute, the ACP said, adding further investigation is on.
