Body of a newborn baby girl was recovered today from a garbage bin at Mettupalayam around 40 km from here.
Municipal workers found some dogs moving around the bin and upon searching it they found the body of the prematurely delivered baby, police said
On questioning the staff of the government hospital it was revealed that a woman had come on the night of January 3 for treatment claiming that she had delivered a still-born premature baby, they said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and the woman detected from the video footage of the hosital, has been detained for questioning.
