Bollywood supports PM's Clean India Campaign

Bollywood celebrities Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra and many others today came out in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Swachh Bharat Campaign'.

Modi today appealed to people to dedicate 100 hours a year towards cleanliness, and as a part of which he also invited Bollywood stars Salman Khan, Kamal Haasan and Priyanka Chopra to help clean public places.

Priyanka accepted his invite and assured him she will participate in the cleanliness drive.

"I humbly accept respected Prime Minster Narendra Modiji's challenge. This is an idea that is long overdue Clean India Campaign," she tweeted.

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan also joined Modi's mission by taking the pledge with him at the India Gate to thousands of people, including schools children and government employees at Rajpath for remaining committed to cleanliness to make the country clean.
 

Subhash Ghai, Hrithik Roshan and Shyam Benegal joined hands with hundreds of students of the 'Taal' director's film school, Whistling Woods, to show their solidarity for the cause.

"Hritik roshan subhash ghai sham benegal n hundreds of students will join clean india campaign soon today whistlingwoods to clean campus (sic)," Ghai tweeted.

Actress-politician Hema Malini, wishing everyone Happy Gandhi Jayanti, posted on Twitter, "Gandhi Jayanti today- let us all follow our PM about keeping our country clean & hygienic. Swachch Bharat should be our aim now!"

Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt mentioned the importance of having a pure mind before surroundings.

"Thought first, then word and finally action. Action without thought will never last. Need to clean the thought first. SwachhBharat," Bhatt said.

Actress Dia Mirza, remembering Mahatma Gandhi and former Indian Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries, wrote, "Lal Bahadur Shashtri Mahatma Gandhi, Your birth anniversary is being celebrated by this pledge we take. CleanIndia SwachhBharat."

Actress Suchitra Krishnamurthy, wrote, "Toilets for all. Spitting to be made criminal offense 3 Eco friendly garbage disposal.
