Bootlegger & drug peddler arrested in Phagwara

Police today arrested a bootlegger and a drug peddler from separate locations in Phagwara city of Punjab.

Jasmeet Singh was arrested with 20 bottles of illicit liquor in Rawalpindi area here, police said.

Singh hailed from Narur village and was booked under relevant sections of the Excise Act, they said.

In another incident, a drug peddler named Rajinder Kumar was arrested with 210 intoxicating capsules near the Tibbi railway crossing, police said.

He was booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, they said.
