Boy crushed to death by temple car

A 15-year-old boy was killed after being crushed by a temple car during a festival at Melakadu village here, police said.

The incident occurred this morning when hundreds of devotees were pulling the car during the annual festival of Sithala Parameswari Amman temple.

Saravanakumar, a class X student from the village, fell down and came under the wheel of the decorated car, police said.

Vedaranyam DSP Pon Karthik Kumar and other officials visited the spot.
