Heroin worth Rs 5 crore in the international market was today seized from the India-Pakistan border at Ferozpur sector by the Border Security Force here.
The BSF jawans, patrolling the Border out Post (BoP), last night observed some movement near the fencing and spotted a person throwing a packet from the other side, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Punjab Frontier of BSF, R S Katariya said.
The accused later retreated towards the Pakistani side taking cover of dense bush near the fencing after the jawans called him for confrontation, he said.

The jawans searched the spot today morning and seized the packet of heroin weighing one kg and valued at Rs five crore in the international market, he said.
BSF has seized 57.8 kg of heroin from Firozpur sector while 139.8 kg has been recovered in total from the state at the international border this year till now, the DSP added.
