Bus collides with truck in China, killing 10

At least 10 people were killed and many other injured when a bus crashed into a heavy-duty truck in eastern China today, officials said.

According to government of Wuhu city in Anhui province, the accident happened when a bus overturned into the opposite lane on a highway and was hit by a truck coming from opposite direction.

Ten people died and many others were injured in the crash, the Wuhu information department said in a statement, without providing the exact number of those injured.

An inquiry has been ordered into the crash, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

Road accidents in China are common and are often caused by violation of traffic rules, poor driving, inadequate maintenance and overloading.
