Chhattisgarh will be compiling a comprehensive biographical sketch of the freedom fighters from the state to make the youth aware of their sacrifices and contribution.
The Chhattisgarh Other Backward Caste (OBC) Commission has taken up the initiative to compile and write comprehensive biography of freedom fighters from the state, Commission's secretary Siyaram Sahu said in statement today.
The decision in this regard was taken recently during a workshop of litterateurs and intellectuals held at Abikapur (Sarguja district) with an aim to make the youth aware of contribution made by freedom fighters and to inculcate the feeling of patriotism, he said.
Even after 70 years of Independence, a complete account of the life and activities of freedom fighters of the state was not available here, he said.
For the purpose, the Commission has sought cooperation from different sections of the society.
Initially, the Commission has contacted the families of two freedom fighters from Sarguja -- Late TV Rao and Late Umend Singh Rawat for details regarding their life, he said.
Their families have assured of providing each and every details.
