The Maharashtra cabinet sub committee to study the Citizenship Amendment Act, National Register of Citizens and National Population Register has decided to seek a report on the guidelines being followed by others states on these issues.
The committee was announced by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray during the recent budget session of the state legislature to study these issues and advise the government on the stand to be taken in this regard.
The meeting was chaired by Parliamentary affairs minister Anil Parab. Minority affairs minister Nawab Malik, housing minister Jitendra Awhad, animal husbandry minister Sunil Kedar and higher and technical education minister Uday Samant attended the meeting.
