A car fell into a river near Noorpur here after driver lost control over the vehicle, killing two persons on the spot, the police said today.
The incident took place yesterday around 9 pm when Kuljeet Singh, an assistant manager with the Punjab National Bank, aged about 40 years, and driver Arvind Kumar were on their way to Moradabad, they said.
The police said it appears the driver lost control over the vehicle and it fell in Baan river after breaking the railing of the narrow bridge.

On receiving information, a team from Noorpur police station reached the spot and fished out the bodies. Later the car was brought out with the help of a crane, the police said.
The bodies were today sent for postmortem, they said, adding the families of the victims have been informed.
