Cases have been registered against at least 100 persons by police for taking out processions and unlawful assembly at the Marine drive ground here on November 2 when the controversial 'Kiss of Love' programme against moral Policing was to be held.

The Marine drive was packed with onlookers, members of organisations like Shiv Sena, and some others who were protesting against conduct of the 'Kiss of Love' protest.

No cases were registered against onlookers and spectators, but against those who took out processions and for unlawful assembly.

The organisers of 'Kiss of Love' event had at the last moment decided to take out a march to the venue when they were taken into custody by police.

A group of Facebook users had called for the programme to protest against the vandalism by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha volunteers on a hotel in Kozhikode, alleging that immoral activities were going on there.

The 'Kiss of Love' campaign was a call by group of "Free Thinkers" led by short film maker Rahul Pasupalan, to come to Marine drive on Nov 2 to hug and kiss each other.

Many organisations had protested against the event saying it was against Indian culture.
