CBI arrests Ordnance factory AGM in graft case

An Additional General Manager of Ordnance Factory in Maharashtra has been arrested by the CBI for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 for passing the bills of a private contractor.

SC Verma, Additional General Manager, of Ordnance Factory, Thane had allegedly demanded Rs 25,000 for clearing the bills of a private labour contractor.

"CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 as first instalment from the complainant," CBI Press Information Officer R K Gaur said here today.

He said searches have been conducted in the office and residential premises of the accused which led to recovery of incriminating documents relating to the case and investments in various movable and immovable properties.
 

"The arrested accused is being produced today before the Special Judge, Kalyan (Maharashtra)," he said.
