CBI askes Kejriwal to name its officer named in his tweet

Facing flak over its raid at the Delhi secretariat, CBI today asked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to name the agency officer on whose purported remark to him he had tweeted that the agency has been tasked to "finish those who don't fall in line".

Rejecting Kejriwal's charge, CBI spokesperson Devpreet Singh said it is a "completely false and misleading statement and emphatically denied".

"It appears to be a part of a concerted attempt to malign India's premier investigating agency," she said in a statement.

The statement came a day after Kejriwal tweeted: "A CBI officer told me yesterday that CBI has been asked to target all opposition parties and finish those who don't fall in line."

The spokesperson said: "We urge the concerned person (Kejriwal) to name the alleged CBI official so that further process as per law can be initiated."
