CBI court convicts two bank employees

A special court in Bhopal has convicted two Central Bank of India employees for causing loss of over Rs 1 crore to the bank.

"The Special Judge for CBI cases, Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), has convicted Kamlesh Kumar Chourasiya, then Branch Manager, Vasant Pavase, then Assistant Manager (Credit), both working in Central Bank of India, Arera Hills Branch, Bhopal; Brajesh Singh Yadav, then Proprietor of M/s Rajdhani Construction and Developers, and Rajendra Prasad Tiwari (a private person) and sentenced them to undergo three years rigorous imprisonment," CBI spokesperson said.

She said CBI had registered a case on a complaint from Central Bank of India, Bhopal.
 

"It was alleged that during the period 2007 to 2009, Chourasiya, Pavase with other persons entered into a criminal conspiracy in the processing of housing loan and caused a loss of Rs 113.66 lacs(approx) to the bank," she said.
