Chana prices were up by 1.19 per cent to Rs 5,176 per quintal in futures trade today as participants created fresh positions on rising demand at the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in September rose by Rs 61 or 1.19 per cent to Rs 5,176 per quintal, with an open interest of 10,700 lots.
On similar lines, the commodity for delivery in October edged up by Rs 34 or 0.65 per cent to Rs 5,189 per quintal in 5,030 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built up by traders on the back of pick-up in demand at the spot market led to the rise in chana prices in futures trade.
