Chana down 0.5% on profit-booking

Commodity for July delivery was down by 0.48%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Chana prices fell by 0.50% to Rs 4,668 per quintal in futures trade today on profit-booking by speculators, triggered by higher arrivals and weak trend at spot markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for June delivery declined by Rs 24, or 0.50%, to Rs 4,668 per quintal with an open interest for 1,19,540 lots.

On similar lines, chana for July delivery was down by Rs 23, or 0.48%, to Rs 4,764 per quintal with an open interest for 62,970 lots.

Traders said besides profit-booking by speculators, subdued demand in the spot markets at existing higher levels, mainly led to the fall in chana prices at futures trade.
