A man, accused of cheating several people in the East Godavari district by claiming to be a relative of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister N Chinna Rajappa and promising them jobs, today surrendered at the office of the Director General of Police here.
Avinash, who is facing three cases-- two in Peddapuram and one in Kakinada-- was handed over to Peddapuram police, IGP Atul Singh told PTI.
"He will be questioned and if his guilt is established, he will be arrested," Singh said.

One of the cases is based on a complaint by a woman who said the accused threatened her after she asked her money, which he had taken for fixing a job, back.
Taking notice of the media reports which said that Avinash collected lakhs of rupees from gullible youths by promising them government jobs, Andhra Pradesh Human Rights Commission had on March 10 issued a notice to the chief secretary, DGP and other officials, seeking a report by April 6.
Kakinada police registered a case against him on the basis of video footage which shows him beating up an unidentified man. The footage was aired by some news channels.
Avinash claimed to hold a cabinet-rank post and used a car with red beacon. He is also accused of cheating some educational institutions and NGOs.
A corporate school in Peddapuram town has lodged a complaint that Avinash, who posed as the chairman of "International Human Rights Commission", had threatened them of severe consequences because the school lacked basic amenities.
