"The government agencies had procured around 36,83,671 tonne till now in the current kharif season (2012-13) and paid more then Rs 4,680 crore to farmers under the support price policy," an official release said.
The state government has mobilised the total government machinery to ensure hassle-free procurement of paddy and deliver part of payment of their produce to farmers at the earliest, it said.
According to the release, the procurement started on November 1, 2012 in 1,333 primary cooperative societies and 1947 multi-purpose cooperatives across the state and will conclude the process by February.
Out of total procurement of 36,83,671 tonne of paddy in all centres, 19,57,449 tonne of paddy is of general quality where as rest of the 14,22,417 tonne is of grade-A quality, the release said.
