SSP Chowrasia rounded off a miserable weekend with yet another disappointing back nine in the final round to finish tied 27th at the Solaire Open here today.

Chowrasia, who was lying third at the midway stage and was in contention till the 42 holes, dropped no less than 11 shots and had just one birdie over the last 30 holes of the tournament.

He carded 75 in the final round to finish with a four-day total of four-over 288 in tied 27th.

Rahil Gangjee, the other Indian in weekend action, also had a disappointing time on the last day. He had just two birdies against seven bogeys and carded 76 to finish at seven-over 291.

Chowrasia said, "My putting which worked so well for the first two days just did not work over the weekend. I needed just 25 and 26 putts on first two days and it was 33 and 30 on last two. That was the problem and I hope to work on it even more."

Canadian Richard Lee, who came through the two stages of the Q-School in 2013, and the finished third at Solaire Open last year, went one better with a fine finish to win his first Asian Tour title. He also had a top-10 in Panasonic Open in India and was eighth at Resort World Manila Masters.

Lee claimed a sensational comeback victory even as home favourite Angelo Que saw his hopes and chances dashed after one bad hole which saw him score 12 on par-5 second hole on Sunday.

Lee overcame a four-shot deficit in the final round with a two-under-par 69 to defeat Thailand's Chawalit Plaphol by one shot and win the USD 300,000 Asian Tour event.
