The Jharkhand Crime Investigation Department was today granted permission by a local court to take Dhirendra Sao, brother of arrested former minister Yogendra Sao, for interrogation for allegedly floating ultra outfits in Hazaribagh district.

The CID team headed by Additional SP Anuranjan Kispotta moved the petition requesting permission to take Dhirendra Sao in remand for three days, but sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate Garima Mishra allowed only three days.

The CID team took Dhirendra Sao to Ranchi to question him in connection with alleged raising and funding of Jharkhand Tiger and Jharkhand Bachhao Andolan, a police official said.

The former minister and Congress MLA, Yogendra Sao, is in judicial custody in connection with the case. He was arrested on October 5.

Yesterday, the court had sent Yogendra Sao, Raj Kumar Gupta and Mukesh Kumar Sao, who headed Jharkhand Tiger and Jharkhand Bachao Andolan respectively, and four other accused in the case.

Gupta had recorded his statement before the judicial magistrate, accusing Yogendra Sao of floating Jharkhand Tiger, leading to his resignation from the JMM-led UPA government on September 12.
