"The administration should take immediate steps to reinstate the workers," said CITU leader Sham Prasad Kesar.
The striking workers are engaged in a project of tunnelling and highway widening on the Jammu-Srinagar Highway at Panjgraian area, the contract for which was given to the firm.
They had gone on a strike after some of their colleagues were dismissed from the job by the firm as part of a cost-cutting exercise.
By not reinstating the dismissed workers, the firm had also breached the agreement that was reached upon last week following a mediation by local authorities, he alleged.
He also sought a mediation by the state government so that the process of negotiations can initiated.
