Close shave for Himachal minister in road mishap

A Himachal Pradesh Cabinet minister had a miraculous escape in a road mishap in which two of his personal staff were severely injured near Sonepat in Haryana in the wee hours today.

State transport minister G S Bali's car rammed into a stationary truck, following which another car with the two staff members rammed into his car, when they were on their way to Delhi, the minister told PTI over the phone.

Bali and the two staff members were admitted to AIIMS at New Delhi.

The minister, who received chest injuries and complained of high blood pressure after the accident, was discharged from AIIMS after a few hours.
 

"I had a miraculous escape with the grace of Goddess Chamunda and hopefully, I will be back on March 8," he said.

Both the cars were completely damaged and condition of the two staff was serious, he said.

Bali was going to Delhi late at night after attending a Cabinet meeting for onward journey to Chennai.
