Marking International Coastal Cleanup Day, the Coast Guard today conducted an awareness campaign on the need to keep our water bodies clean.
Around 300 volunteers including Coast Guard personnel, volunteers of Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association (CGWWA), Lions Club of Calcutta and school children took part in a cleanliness drive at Eco Park.
During the program, volunteers interacted with park visitors and educated them about keeping water bodies clean for a greener tomorrow.

The drive, conducted in association with the Lions Club, Calcutta, was aimed in tandem to the ongoing 'Swacch Bharat Abhiyan' to educate people on keeping our environment clean and green.
The International Coastal Cleanup Day is one of the world's largest volunteer based cleanup drive that is celebrated on the third Saturday of September each year.
