Coconut tree falls on motorcycle, rider killed

In a freak accident, a coconut tree today fell on a motorcycle, killing its rider at Erusumanda village, around 75 km from here, police said.

The accident took place while a duo was going from Merakapalem village to Malikipuram on a motorcycle. The pillion was injured and rushed to a nearby hospital Rajole, a senior police official said.

The deceased was identified as Lanka Satyanarayana (35) and his body was shifted to Rajole government hospital for post mortem, the official said, adding a probe was on.
